Born Francis Avallone in Philadelphia on September 18, 1939, Frankie Avalon first came to the attention of American Bandstand's Dick Clark while still in high school. He cut his first album in 1958 but had been making recordings for several years prior to that, primarily as a trumpeter, not a singer. As a youth, Avalon mastered the trumpet and at age 13 was featured on the CBS TV series The Jackie Gleason Show during its first season. A few years later, when he traded his trumpet for a microphone, Avalon was featured in the rock and roll film Jamboree (1957; with Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis). In 1958, the young singer signed with Chancellor Records and, between 1958 and 1962, he charted 13 singles in the Billboard Top 40, including two number one hits: Venus topped the charts for five weeks in early 1959, and Why shot to number one in early 1960.

For many, tattoos are a deeply personal form of self-expression, a means to immortalize something meaningful on their skin. Whether it's a symbol of personal growth, a tribute to a loved one, or simply an appreciation for art, every tattoo tells a story. Among the vast expanse of tattoo themes, one finds a niche yet passionate group: those who get inked with designs inspired by cult cinema. One such cult classic that has left its mark (quite literally) on fans is the "Phantasm" film series.

Friday the 13th may be the film series that springs to mind when you think hockey mask, but there are actually a few films out there that had a killer or menacing bad guy wearing a hockey mask before Jason Voorhees donned it in the 1983 film Friday the 13th Part III. However, it seems Jason made the mask popular, as there are way more films that came out after that gave a little nod (or directly ripped off in some cases) to the masked Crystal Lake killer. Below is a list of films in the order they released. See if you can figure out which ones are trying to bank on the popularity of the Friday the 13th series.
