Bates Motel 1987 Film [Wikipedia]
Bates Motel is a 1987 American made-for-television supernatural horror film and a spin-off of the Psycho franchise written and directed by Richard Rothstein, starring Bud Cort, Lori Petty, Moses Gunn, Gregg Henry, Jason Bateman, and Kerrie Keane. Outside of the 1998 remake, this is the only installment not to feature Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates as Kurt Paul portrays the character. The film premiered on July 5, 1987. It is a direct sequel to Psycho, ignoring the other sequels.
The film is about Alex West, a mentally disturbed youth who was admitted to an asylum after killing his abusive stepfather. There he befriends Norman and ends up inheriting the Bates Motel. It was originally produced as a pilot for a proposed TV series set in the Bates Motel, but it was not picked up by the network.

Remember The Video Game In Jaws, It Was Killer Shark By Sega [The Bearded Trio]
Sega Killer Shark "Video" Game
This cabinet can be seen in the movie Jaws on the beach. It's called Killer Shark from gaming greats, Sega. It was released way back in 1972. The shark moves around and the player shoots it with a spear gun. It has a series of slides on a wheel that make the shark move and thrash around when shot. Electronic sound and 8-track player. It resembles the Same Sea Devil also by Sega, but Sea Devil had a manta ray instead of a shark.

Dead Silence by SA Barnes Book Review [Reading with My Eyes]
Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes is a horror novel that takes place in a science fiction setting. This novel reminded heavily of the science fiction film starring Lawerence Fishburn and Sam Neil called Event Horizon. Both stories have space ghost, a character just wanting to see a loved one who was separated, and eye gouging. This novel had all that I could want, but it took me a really long time to connect with these characters. I started really enjoying myself 50% in. The pace drastically picks up and the novel gets good. There’s a couple of good twists that I did not see coming. The ending is full of action and some clever twists. The beginning really made me work it, I don’t think it was ever in the do not finish category, but it was so hard to connect to any of the side characters, and Claire the main character took a while to connect as well. The highlight of this book is the madness and the horror that comes with it, it made me look around my dark room once or twice and felt my chest pounding.

Silent Hill, True Story & Real Town's History Explained [Screen Rant]
Before Silent Hill became a horror film, it was a survival horror video game — but what's even more horrifying still is that Silent Hill, West Virginia is based on a real place. The game utilizes a foggy atmosphere to inhibit the player’s vision while they control Harry Mason on the search for his missing adopted daughter. Its unforgettable landscape and horrific features spawned an entire franchise of films and video game sequels. While the horror video game is well-known, its true story and the actual location are rarely recognized. There's a real town — the town of Centralia, known online as "The Real Silent Hill", Pennsylvania — which inspired Silent Hill's aesthetic.
