Every Day is Halloween [Cavity Colors]
Growing up, I was heavily into horror movies, Goosebumps books, metal music, skateboarding, and all things Halloween. I slowly became more and more intrigued and obsessed with the mind bending artwork that accompanied all of it. After years of doodling little monsters and copying Pushead skulls in my notebook, I decided to post a few sketches on Myspace (lol) - And soon after, I was contacted by a local band who were in need of T-shirt designs. So I buckled down, stayed up until sunrise, and taught myself some basic Photoshop skills and created my first ever clothing designs. From there, what was once a hobby, snowballed into a full-time job designing bold and colorful art for t-shirts, cd packaging, posters, and other merchandise for local and internationally recognized metal bands. In May of 2012, after years of designing freelance, I decided to change paths and with the help of my wife, and Co-Founder Ricki Crawford, take my art and release it as t-shirts and prints under the name CAVITYCOLORS. (A name coined from the idea of vibrant colors drawing you in to view something that may be horrific or unsettling in subject matter)
Since 2012, Cavitycolors has become an internationally recognized brand, with collaborations with some of the leading artists and designers working today, while also acquiring licensing rights to produce official merchandise for a wide range of horror, sci-fi, and cult classic films. We're always on a quest down a path lined with glowing pumpkins, seeking that exact same nostalgic feeling we all felt as a kid discovering our favorite scary movies for the very first time. This inspiration spills over into the items we create for our brand. We're here to bring you the same feeling you get while watching a favorite monster movie after midnight, or throwing on your favorite Halloween costume to go trick 'r treating! We're incredibly humbled to have customers and supporters from around the world who share the same passion for all things spooky and weird, and we can't thank you enough for the ongoing support. Without you, our brand wouldn't exist.

Neil D’monte on the Art of the Storyboard [Modern Horrors]
I began following Modern Horrors on Instagram last year and subsequently, their website. I loved the informative articles and reviews, particularly their recommendations for all things horror/sci-fi/dark fantasy related. Mania Daniel, one of the contributing writers, and I struck up a friendship and she referred me to her editor, Jason Almenas, about being a contributing writer and offering up some insight and perspective as to what it is like to work in the film industry. Naturally I jumped at the chance to do so. I thought it would be fun to offer up some facts about what goes on behind the cameras to you, the reader, on subjects that may be a little foreign to you in regards to how productions work and especially why being a ‘team player’ is so crucial to the show’s success.

A Guide to Scary Books for Kids [Scary Studies]
I made an entire documentary about scary books for kids, specifically the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books.
During that time I interviewed the family of author Alvin Schwartz, I interviewed authors R.L. Stine, Bruce Coville, Q.L. Peirce, Debbie Dadey, and many scholars and folklorists. All to talk about scary children’s books in all its many facets.

Five Favorite John Saxon Performances [Schlockmania]
July 25th saw the passing of John Saxon. He leavesbehind an amazing career as an actor that covers everything from major studiowork to leads in foreign films (particularly Italian ones) as well as decadesof featured roles in several classic network television shows. He starredalongside everyone from Marlon Brando to Bruce Lee and was directed byfilmmakers as diverse as Otto Preminger, Mario Bava, John Sturges and WesCraven. As that c.v. suggests, he was an actor who could be counted on for astrong, committed performance in whatever setting he was placed - and as aresult, he spent several years working steadily around the world.

Minore (2023) Review – HP Lovecraft Fan Fiction [The Scariest Things]
In Minore, tentacled cosmic horrors besiege a seaside Greek town, and it’s up to the patrons of a local taverna to save the city. The directors refer to this as “My Big Fat Greek Monster Movie,” which captures that boozy spirit of fun and zaniness throughout. Minore punches well above its weight class. It features top-shelf cinematography, complimented with high-end visual FX and an excellent ensemble cast.

The Wells of Hell by Graham Masterton (1979) [Too Much Horror Fiction]
Whenever I find myself picking up and then tossing aside paperback horror novel after paperback horror novel, dismayed and distressed at the author's inability to hook me to the narrative even in the first few pages; whenever it pains my soul that it's been months since I've read a good book; whenever I begin to despair of the genre I love and almost desire to leave it all behind—I know it is high time to get myself back to my trusty old authorial standbys. And Graham Masterton, thanks be to him, is one of those standbys.
